Game of Inches

Football is said to be a “game of inches”. It’s played on a field that is one hundred yards (3600 inches) long. The outcome of many games has been decided by something as insignificant as an inch. Ball carriers are taught from day one to fight for every inch, because it may make the difference between winning or losing the game. This photo shows the ball carrier fighting for that “extra” inch. He knows that when the game is on the line, an extra inch may put a “W” in the win column.
